About the Vahe Meliksetyan Foundation

The event supports the Vahe Meliksetyan Foundation, which aims to develop clinical pharmacy in Armenia.

The Foundation was established in 2021 with a mission to fulfill the professional dreams of a clinical pharmacist, scientist, and lecturer at the Department of Clinical Pharmacy of YSMU - Vahe Meliksetyan, who fell in the 2020 Artsakh War. Vahe was also a part of almost every charity run.

Over the past five years, VMF has invested more than 60 million AMD in the fields of education and scientific research. During this time, the foundation established educational programs, provided scholarships and tuition fee coverages to pharmacy students, supported the participation of local clinical pharmacists in professional development programs abroad, and conducted comprehensive research to identify the prospects for the development of clinical pharmacy in the Republic of Armenia.

VMF Vanadzor Half-Marathon in 2025

On September 14, the “VMH Vanadzor Half Marathon 2025” took place – the very first half-marathon held in Vanadzor. The charity run was organized by the Arm Marathon Foundation, the Vahe Meliksetyan Foundation, Zuck Agency, TriClub Yerevan, and “Trialeti Vanadzor” sport clubs, with the support of the Vanadzor Municipality and the Lori Regional Administration.

The half-marathon aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle, expand sports culture in Vanadzor and the regions of Armenia, and contribute to the development of sports tourism in the country.

The event offered several race distances: a 1 km kids' run, 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km run. Around 400 runners of different ages and physical preparation levels joined the event, representing 8 countries, including Georgia, Russia, the USA, and France, took part in the Run.

The charity run raised 9,200,000 AMD.

The general sponsor of the event was Ardshinbank CJSC, Armenia's leading bank.

This charity event was dedicated to the memory of Vahe Meliksetyan — a promising clinical pharmacist, scientist, and lecturer at the YSMU Department of Clinical Pharmacology, who lost his life in the 2020 Artsakh War. In recent years, Vahe was also an active participant in various charity runs.
